Austria Weather
Austria lies in the temperate climate zone. Generally, westerly humid winds predominate. Over half of the country, generally in the West, is dominated by the Alps mountain range, and in this region an alpine climate is experienced. The climate in the eastern part of the country is of a continental type, and is generally drier and warmer than that of the West. Overall, the country is generally cold in winter, but features warm summers where the temperature can rise to 30°C (86°F) or higher.
